A woman who went out for a jog Friday evening is in critical condition, police said, after being stabbed in the neck and left on a waterfront trail in Brooklyn’s Bath Beach neighborhood.
Just after 8 p.m. officials said they received a call regarding a person stabbed on a bike path near Bay Parkway and Cropsey Avenue in Bath Beach.
Police found the 28-year-old woman with a stab wound to the neck and transported her to NYU Langone, where she was listed in critical condition as of Saturday morning.
NYPD officials say the attack happened in an area of the path were there are no cameras. They said the department assigned a number of specialized units Friday and Saturday to help investigate, including additional detectives, and aviation, K-9 and scuba teams.
No arrests have been made and authorities were not able to give a description of a suspect.
