Iran is reviewing “concrete proposals” from mediators on the future of its nuclear program amid talks with the United States in Doha, Qatar, The New York Times reported on Thursday.

The report cited five officials, including an American and two Iranians, briefed on the talks, noting that the revelation suggests some progress in negotiations with the US.

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, did not elaborate on the specifics of the proposals.

The NYT reached out to the Iranian Foreign Ministry for comment, which has not yet responded.

Former Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a fatwa forbidding the development and use of nuclear weapons, though US and Israeli intelligence agencies have reported signs that Iran is enriching uranium beyond peaceful levels.
