GARDAI are hunting for a knife-wielding man who threatened staff of a county pub this weekend, Limerick Live has learned.

The shocking incident occurred at a licensed premises in Kilmallock.

A garda spokesperson confirmed gardaí in Kilmallock are investigating an incident of possession of an offensive weapon that occurred at a premises in the early hours of this Sunday morning, August 24 at approximately 1am.

“A male threatened staff with a weapon and left the scene. Gardaí conducted a search of the area but the male was not located,” said a garda spokesperson.

It is understood that the Regional Armed Support Unit responded to assist local gardai.

No injuries have been reported. 

“Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.

Anybody who was in Kilmallock around 1am this Sunday morning and witnessed any suspicious activity is asked to come forward to gardai.
