FOX News reports the National Guard could be deployed in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, new Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wyoming.Â
The National Guardsmen are expected to be present in those states through mid-November.Â
The Guardsmen will be assisting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with “carrying out tasks that may include ‘personal data collection, fingerprinting, DNA swabbing and photographing of personnel in ICE custody,'” an official reportedly told FOX News.
At this time, it is unclear how many National Guardsmen will be deployed to Indiana. 13News has reached out to the Indiana National Guard and the Governor’s office, but have not yet heard back.
