Des Hasler‘s time at the Titans is almost over, with the legendary coach set to depart the club at the end of this season.
Gold Coast confirmed the news on Monday morning that the 64-year-old would not see out the final year of his contract.
Hasler’s side look set to finish with the dreaded wooden spoon this year after finishing in 14th spot in his first year at the helm.

Titans chairman Dennis Watt paid tribute to the 64-year-old for his contribution.

“His deep knowledge, passion and unwavering commitment to excellence have been evident every day he has worked with our club,” Watt said.
“While this season hasn’t gone as planned, Des has conducted himself with the dignity and class that has defined his entire career.”
The decision likely brings an end to Hasler’s head coaching career, which has spanned more than 500 games across three separate clubs.

Hasler won two premierships with Manly as a coach, adding to his two titles from his playing days with the Sea Eagles.
He also took the Bulldogs to grand finals in 2012 and 2014, losing both.
The club has also confirmed that highly-touted Sharks and Maroons assistant Josh Hannay will take over as head coach for 2026 and beyond.

“Josh is one of the best young minds in the game,” Titans boss Steve Mitchell said.
“After 10 years in the NRL as a player, Josh has built a body of work as an assistant coach that has him ready to be successful with a team of his own.
“He is highly regarded with players and staff who have worked with him across his coaching roles to date, speaking to his ability to communicate and deliver a winning game plan. Josh is excited by our squad, having worked with a number of our players through his time with the Queensland Origin and Emerging Origin camps.
“We have been highly impressed by Josh and his vision for this team, however out of respect to both Josh and the Cronulla Sharks, we will wait until he has finished with his current role before he speaks to Titans members and fans directly.”
Scott Sattler will join the Titans as director of football, while Anthony Laffranchi has been appointed as the new head of recruitment.
Gold Coast will finish their campaign against the Dolphins and Tigers in the final two rounds of the regular season before Hasler bows out.
