Ryan Burton, Jeremy Finlayson, Dylan Williams, Lachie Charleson and Hugh Jackson will not be offered contracts in 2026.
Port Adelaide has notified Ryan Burton, Jeremy Finlayson, Dylan Williams, Lachie Charleson and Hugh Jackson that they will not be offered contracts in 2026.
Burton was recruited from Hawthorn during the 2018 trade period and went on to play 115 games for the club, after 40 appearances for the Hawks.
The 28-year-old played almost every game in 2023 but managed just eight AFL matches in 2025.
Finlayson, who arrived from the GWS Giants prior to the 2022 season, departs after four seasons and 62 matches, playing largely as a forward/ruck.
He took to the field eight times at AFL level this year, averaging almost nine disposals and kicking five goals.
Williams had a strong 2023 season, playing 21 games, but was selected in the AFL side just seven times over the past two years.
He averaged 13 disposals from 15 SANFL games this season, and was moved forward during the season, where he scored 21 majors.
Jackson made his AFL debut this season in his fourth year on Port Adelaide’s list, and went on to play nine games, while Charleson played 31 SANFL games in his time at the club, but was unable to break into the AFL side.
Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps thanked the quintet for their service.
“We thank Ryan, Jeremy, Dylan, Lachie and Hugh for their contribution to our club,” Cripps said.
“Ryan and Jeremy have both, at times, played important roles for our AFL side, offering versatility and depth when we’ve required it.
“Dylan and Hugh showed some positive development over the past few years, with both earning opportunities at the top level, while Lachie was a solid contributor to our SANFL program and showed great commitment to the club in his two years on the list.
“We wish all five players the very best for their futures.”
