A 13-year-old Kerry girl has been remanded in detention in relation to assault and criminal damage charges.
She appeared before Judge Monika Leech at Tralee District Court facing six charges.
The teenager, who cannot be named because she is a juvenile, appeared via-video link from Oberstown Children’s Detention Centre.
The 13-year-old faces three charges of assault in relation to an alleged incident in Kerry on July 22nd.
It’s also alleged that she caused criminal damage to a property in the county in separate incidents on July 18th, 19th and 22nd.
Tralee District Court heard that DPP recommendations are still awaited in relation to the case.
Representing the accused, solicitor Padraig O’Connell urged the judge that this is not a matter for a higher court and asked it would remain in the district court.
Judge Monika Leech remanded the girl in detention at Oberstown Detention Centre until next month for DPP recommendations, and to consider if the case is appropriate for a Section 75 hearing.
