Collopy, who was the pillion passenger on the Scrambler bike, was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Convicted drug dealer Darragh Collopy suffered horror injuries in the collision between a van and a scrambler bike which took place on the junction of Collins Avenue and the Ballymun Road on Monday afternoon.

Collopy (21), who was the pillion passenger on the scrambler, was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the scrambler was also seriously injured in the crash with no other injuries reported.

“Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a two vehicle road traffic collision at the junction of Collins Avenue and the Ballymun Road yesterday afternoon, Monday 25th August 2025,” a garda spokesperson said.

“The collision involved a scrambler and a van and occurred at approximately 3:35pm.”

“The scrambler driver and passenger, both males in their 20s, have been taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The male passenger’s condition is described as critical.”

“No other injuries reported.

The road was closed but has since reopened,” the spokesperson added.

Earlier this year Darragh Collopy avoided jail for his part in a brawl when Glen ‘Mr Flashy’ Ward was caught on video wielding a bicycle saddle.

Ward (32) and his brother Eric O’Driscoll (23), also avoided further jail time over the violent disorder incident in Finglas in August 2022.

Ward was filmed as he swung the saddle at a group of men on Cardiffsbridge Road, Finglas West three years ago. The court heard a another man had also received an 18-month suspended sentence over the incident.

In May, the Sunday World revealed that this man was their associate Darragh Collopy, with an address at Cardiffsbridge Avenue in Finglas.

While Collopy avoided jail over the brawl, he was previously sentenced to three years with one suspended after being convicted of drugs charges in 2023.

He was caught with a large amount of cannabis for sale or supply at Abbotstown Drive in Finglas on January 19, 2022 and later convicted under Section 15a of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

He later pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a mobile phone while in custody.

Blanchardstown District Court heard that the handset was found during a search of Collopy’s cell at Wheatfield Prison, Cloverhill Road, Clondalkin, on March 29, 2023.

Collopy had 24 previous convictions and was already serving a sentence when he appeared in court on the phone offence.

Collopy’s pals, Ward and O’Driscoll, are currently behind bards serving sentence for firearms offences after being caught on video firing shots from a semi-automatic rifle during a house party in Finglas.

Ward was jailed for six years and three months, with nine month suspended after he pleaded guilty to possession of a .223 calibre Remington AR-15 semi-automatic rifle in New Year’s Day in 2022.

O’Driscoll pleaded guilty to possession of the same gun and was sentenced to six years with one year suspended.
