After a collision involving an SUV in Burlington, Ont., on Monday, Halton police say, a 19-year-old motorcyclist has died.
The collision happened just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Dundas Street and Kerns Road, police said in a news release Tuesday morning.
A Milton man, 56, driving an SUV was attempting a left turn onto Kerns Road when his vehicle collided with the motorcycle in the oncoming lane, police said.
The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not identify him, but said he was from Waterdown.
No other drivers required medical attention, but two other vehicles aside from the motorcycle and SUV were damaged in the collision, police said.
Roads in the area were temporarily closed to traffic following the collision, but had reopened as of 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Halton police’s collision reconstruction unit is now investigating. They are asking anyone with dash cam footage from the area to contact investigators.
