A whole lot of people got together this Monday.
ST PAUL, Minn. — A record number of people got together at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds this Monday.Â
According to fair officials, attendance on Aug. 25 was the highest ever for first-Mondays with 145,022 people at the fairgrounds. The previous record, set in 2017, was 144,504.Â
This year’s attendance on the first Monday certainly beat out last year when we saw uncomfortably high temperatures and storms in the evening.
Aug. 25 was the first day this year to break a Minnesota State Fair attendance record. Last year, five days beat records, including opening day. This year’s opening day fell short of last year’s record by just about 1,700 people.
The most attended day of the Minnesota State Fair ever was in 2018 when 270,426 people got together on the second Saturday. Last year’s most attended day was the second Sunday, with an attendance of 256,015.Â
