A man has been killed in a single-vehicle crash which closed an Otago highway this afternoon.Â
Emergency services were called to the crash on State Highway 93, between Mataura and Clinton, about 10.15am, police said.
“Sadly, a man was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said in a statement.
The road has now reopened NZTA Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said in an update at 4.55pm.
The update said the crash site had been cleared and the Serious Crash Unit had completed its investigation.
Motorists were urged to continue driving with care.
The initial road closure announcement came from NZTA at 11.45am, and was extended in an update at 1.44pm.

SH93 remains CLOSED between Clinton and Mataura, due to a serious crash.
