Wrexham played their final game of their pre-season tour in New Zealand as they faced Wellington Phoenix.
Phil Parkinson made a number of changes to the defeat in Sydney, which included the return of new signing Ryan Hardie after suffering a concussion.
A tight first half ended goalless with the brightest player on the pitch coming in a Wellington Phoenix shirt as 17-year-old Luke Brooke-Smith caught the eye.
Phoenix took the lead just after half time as Luke Flowerdew bundled the ball home after some sloppy Wrexham defending.
The Red Dragons had a number of efforts to find the equaliser but were frustrated by the woodwork and a couple of fine saves as they end their tour in defeat.

Another display of real energy and enthusiasm from the 18-year-old. That coupled with some excellent touches and turns made Harry Ashfield the standout player in the first half for Wrexham.
He was a constant threat to the Wellington back line, whether that was dropping deep and getting involved in the build up or arriving late in the box.
The forward would have been disappointed not to hit the target when he pounced upon a goalkeeping error early in the match and then saw a header go wide of the post from a good cross from Elliot Lee.
However, it was the 18-year-old that was putting himself in these positions and taking responsibility, his manager would have been thrilled with his display once again.

After a quiet first half, where space was limited in a congested midfield, Lee sprung into life after the break and showed that he can still be an important asset to this Wrexham side.
He was desperately unlucky to see his header crash against the crossbar after combining once again with Ashfield.
The 30-year-old midfielder then arrived late into the box once again and acrobatically produced an effort on goal that drew a fine save from the Wellington keeper.
Modou Faal
It was only a 30 minute cameo from Modou Faal but he will be so pleased to be back on the pitch after undergoing surgery on a thigh injury at the end of last season.
The young striker made an impact on the game too, his physicality was a real test for the Phoenix defenders and showed Parkinson that he may be an excellent option from the bench this season.
Losers from Wrexham’s clash with Wellington PhoenixArthur Okonkwo
Pre-season is all about blowing off those summer cobwebs and getting the feel of the ball once again and it is the same for goalkeepers.
Arthur Okonkwo was magnificent for Wrexham last season but he will be hoping that his performance against Phoenix was just a one-off display.
The keeper fumbled a soft cross at the beginning of the second half straight into the path of the onrushing Flowerdew.
Okonkwo will now be looking for more game time before the season opener to eradicate that mistake from his mind.

Successive defeats with sluggish performances and injury concerns was not how Parkinson would have planned this trip down under.
Ollie Rathbone and Jack Marriott will be out of action upon returning to the UK, whilst there are concerns over the fitness of Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez as both missed the match once again.
Wrexham have signed Liberato Cacace from Empoli but it is very clear that this team needs further investment if they are to cope with the challenges of the Championship.
With just three weeks until the season opener at Southampton, Parkinson has a real job on his hands getting this squad ready.
