Pope Leo XIV called on the international community to help stop the war in Gaza and secure the release of hostages from Hamas captivity. “I once again make a firm appeal – to put an end to the conflict that has caused so much terror, destruction and death in the Holy Land,” the Pope said in his weekly sermon at the Vatican. “I plead for all the hostages to be released, for a permanent ceasefire to be achieved, for humanitarian aid to safely enter Gaza and for international law to be respected.”
