Hillary Clinton ripped into President Donald Trump on Tuesday, warning that his controversial tariff policies are turning the United States into a global pariah.
The former secretary of state noted on X, formerly Twitter, the “growing list of countries choosing to pause mail deliveries to the U.S. because of Trump’s tariff chaos.”
They include Australia, France, Germany, India, Spain and South Korea.
Trump’s 2016 Democratic rival — a frequent thorn in his side — asked: “Did anyone vote in 2024 to become the new Hermit Kingdom?”
The dictionary definition of the term “hermit kingdom” is “a country or territory which shuts itself off to the outside world.”
For years, the phrase has been used to describe Kim Jong Un’s North Korea.

Multiple international postal services have now paused shipments of packages to the U.S. amid confusion over Trump’s decision to scrap the so-called “de minimis” exemption, which waives tariffs on low-value packages.
“Key questions remain unresolved, particularly regarding how and by whom customs duties will be collected in the future, what additional data will be required, and how the data transmission to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be carried out,” said DHL, Europe’s largest shipping provider.
