Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated the plane had crashed upon landing.

The Edmonton International Airport has confirmed there was an incident involving an airplane Tuesday evening.

The YEG airport says it happened when a plane was trying to land just before 7 p.m.

In a statement to CityNews, YEG airport says as as result, the airport could not accept or depart any flights for a short time.

By 9:15 p.m., the plane had been safely removed from the runway. Passengers were being told to check their flight status online.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and officials have not confirmed which airline was involved.
