Keith Andrews secured the second victory of his Brentford tenure last night, with his side producing an impressive display en route to a 2-0 victory at Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup.
The Irishman would ring the changes for this fixture, fielding an almost entirely new team to the one that defeated Aston Villa over the weekend. That did not affect their performance, with goals from Fabio Carvalho and Igor Thiago ensuring an impressive victory away from home.
This is the second win for Andrews in his first three games in charge of Brentford.

Keith Andrew Calls Out ‘Narrative’ Around His Brentford Tenure
Quite a bit had been said about Brentford’s decision to appoint Keith Andrews as manager in recent weeks, with many tipping the club for relegation on the back of the loss of Thomas Frank and key players such as Bryan Mbuemo and Christian Norgaard.
Many of the comments were quite unfair on the former Ireland assistant manager, making assumptions about his ability as a coach despite knowing very little about his capabilities.
Speaking after last night’s game, Andrew would praise his players before calling out what he felt had been an unfair ‘narrative’ surrounding Brentford in recent times.
We have a real togetherness and I am really pleased with a lot of the performances tonight.
Some of the players coming back from long-term injuries in particular have been on a tough journey.
It’s not easy when you’re not available to play and do the thing you love doing, so with Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey and (Igor) Thiago and his goal there were positives tonight.
We defended amazingly well again and did the basics of the game that I feel will get you results. We came up with two good goals.
The reality is there’s probably been a narrative around the club in recent weeks and months, which I understand to a point because of the departures of staff and players.
But people don’t realise what goes on on a day-to-day basis.
Having suffered a disappointing loss against Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the Premier League season, Keith Andrews will be thrilled with his team’s response over the last two games.
Brentford will be aiming to continue this momentum before the international break, with a trip to Sunderland on Saturday another opportunity to continue their winning run.
