Three people have been arrested following the incident at a block of flatsPolice on Warwick Road on Sunday
A man is in a serious condition after being stabbed in a block of flats. Police were called to a block of flats on Warwick Road in Huyton at around 4.20am today, July 20, where officers found a man in his 40s with a stab wound to his arm.
He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a serious but stable condition. A 41-year-old woman from Halewood; a 68-year-old man from Huyton; and a 30-year-old man of no fixed abode were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent. They have all been taken to police stations for questioning.
Officers remain at the scene where they will carry out forensic, house=to-house and CCTV enquiries. One neighbour told the ECHO how she woke up 4am after noise coming from the block of flats.
She said how police descended on the block with an ambulance quickly arriving.
Detective Inspector Richie Shillito said: “At this early stage, we believe that the victim and suspects are known to each other, although the reason behind this incident will become clearer as our investigation progresses.
“Three arrests have been swiftly made, but are still appealing to those locally who may have seen or know something.
“If you live in the area of Warwick Road, we will be speaking to you today but if anyone has information or footage from CCTV, dashcam or doorbell devices which might assist, please come forward. Any small detail could prove vital.
“Knife crime can have catastrophic consequences in our communities, and this incident could easily have proved even more serious. We carry out work on a daily basis to reduce the threat of serious violence on Merseyside, key to which is often what people in those areas affected tell us, so please get in touch and we will continue to proactively target those who use violence.”
