Morgan was treated for non-life threatening injuries after he was chased down a laneway close to his Corduff home when he was targeted by a gunman.
He was shot once in the armpit and was discharged from hospital late last night.
A handgun was used in the attack and it is believed that two shots were discharged from the weapon.

Detectives are investigating whether he had been in a dispute with a junior member of the notorious Hennessy organised crime gang.
There are fears that the botched shooting may lead to an increase in tensions among the criminal fraternity in Dublin 15.
There have been no arrests in the case which is being investigated by Blanchardstown gardai.
Morgan from Corduff Green is a notorious burglar who has around 80 previous criminal convictions some dating from when he was a teenager.
He was aged just 19 when he was jailed for 14 months in 2002 for breaking into a house near Cloverhill District Court just minutes after being released on bail for another burglary offence.
Twelve years later he was given a suspended sentence for the burglary of a priest’s home in Corduff in July, 2012 – close to where he was shot on Tuesday afternoon.
The court heard that when Morgan was arrested he was high on drugs. He had been seen jumping from a second floor window in the mistaken belief he was on ground level.
On that occasion Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard he had abstained from cannabis and other drugs since January 2013.
But at a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court in April of last year, the court heard Morgan “was taking a lot of tablets” when he broke into the vacant home of a former politician in November, 2017.
There was nothing stolen in that break-in but he was caught by gardai after they found his blood at the scene.
Sentenced to a month in jail for that offence, the court heard last year that Morgan was “now a different man” who cared for his mother and played golf and football.
Morgan’s younger brother David (35) has survived a number of gun attacks including being shot in the face with a revolver in a daylight attack while he was drinking vodka and orange with a pal in Corduff Park in Blanchardstown in March, 2011.
David Morgan lost the sight in one of his eyes in that attack and he also escaped uninjured when a shotgun was fired into a house party he was at in April, 2012.
