The bodies of two men were pulled from a lake in southeast Calgary on Wednesday night as crews responded to a reports of a possible drowning.

Calgary police tell CityNews emergency crews were called to Mahogany Lake in the community of Mahogany around 5:15 p.m. after bystanders saw someone struggling in the water.

A police spokesperson says there were multiple reports of a man struggling in the lake who went underwater and was not seen again.

Emergency responders conducted a search with police on scene assisting the Calgary Fire Department (CFD). Crews could be seen searching off a dock near the Mahogany Beach Club building.

CFD divers recovered the bodies of two men from the lake just before 7 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing and police say they are working to identify the two victims.
