Taylor and Travis’ engagement post on Instagram has broken several records. As per Billboard’s report, it surpassed one million reposts on Instagram in just six hours. This is the highest-ever on the platform. Earlier, it was reported that the announcement got 14 million ‘likes’ in just one hour. At the time of press, Taylor and Travis’ post has 31.7 million likes.
What Travis’ father had to say
After the announcement, Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, said in an interview with News 5 Cleaveland, “Travis actually did the proposal, may
be two weeks, not quite two weeks ago. He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week to make some grand thing, to make it a big special event.”
He added, “And I told him repeatedly, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event…when
you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”
Revealing details of the proposal, Ed shared, “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out
and have a glass of wine’. They got out there and that’s when he asked her and it was beautiful. They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
He also revealed that there are no wedding plans as of now. “They’re just two young people very much in love, cast in a spotlight that they really haven’t sought but kind of followed with their success in their respective fields,” he said while signing off.
Sharing the post on Instagram, Taylor wrote, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
