More than 500 UN employees sent a letter to UN Human Rights Commissioner Volker Türk, demanding that he officially declare the war in Gaza as a “genocide,” Reuters news agency reported. The workers claimed that “the legal criteria for genocide have been met. The Commission has a legal and moral responsibility to condemn acts of genocide. Failure to condemn undermines the UN’s credibility.”
