Some residents in NW Calgary are being asked to shelter in place as police respond to reports of an active shooter.

Calgary police say they were called to the area of Crescent Road NW and 5 Street NW around 3:40 p.m. for reports of a shooter.

Residents who live in the area are being asked to stay inside and lock their doors until further notice. The public is being asked to stay away from the area.

No injuries have been reported.
