Highway 1 east of Chilliwack is blocked in the westbound direction after a crash involving a semi truck Friday morning.

Callers to 1130 NewsRadio first reported the crash around 7 a.m.

A semi truck reportedly hit the guardrail travelling westbound just before Annis Road, knocking the guardrail into eastbound traffic.

Both directions were temporarily blocked. In an update around 8:15 a.m., DriveBC announced that the eastbound lanes had reopened.

The RCMP’s Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment says emergency crews are on scene. Details are limited, but Mounties say “injuries are minor.”
