The brand new competition series KPOPPED premieres exclusively on Apple TV+ Friday, Aug. 29.
The new eight-part song battle series stars PSY, who rose to stardom after his international chart-topper “Gangnam Style” took the world by storm, and three-time Grammy Award-winning superstar Megan Thee Stallion.
According to an Apple TV+ press release, the show brings together “some of the biggest names in Western music and top K-pop idols for unexpected, high-energy reinterpretations of iconic hits.”

The highly anticipated series is set to debut all eight parts exclusively on Apple TV+ Friday, Aug. 29. Those without an Apple TV+ subscription can enjoy a 7-day free trial after committing to a paid plan and pay just $12.99 a month afterwards.

The new competition series is hosted by actor and comedian Soojeong Son, and with Son leading the way, Western char-toppers such as Megan Thee Stallion, Patti LaBelle, Vanilla Ice, J Balvin and more will team up with celebrated K-pop groups such as Billie, ITZY, BLACKSWAN, Kiss of Life and more to reimagine popular songs.
During each episode, the participating artists have just a short window to rehearse and deliver electrifying renditions for a live audience in Seoul. Following the performance, the live audience votes for the standout performance of the night and names the winner.
Additionally, after the song battle winner is determined the K-pop idols close out the episode with an exciting performance.
Which artists will participate in KPOPPED?
The Western artists set to be included in the upcoming series are Megan Thee Stallion, Patti LaBelle, Mel B, Emma Bunton, Vanilla Ice, Taylor Dayne, Kesha, Eve, J Balvin, Kylie Minogue, TLC, Boy George, Jess Glynee, Ava Max and Boyz II Men.
The K-pop acts include Billie, ITZY, Kep1er, JO1, ATEEZ, STAYC, Kiss of Life and BLACKSWAN.
Across eight episode the artists will collaborate on renditions of timeless hits including “Savage,” “Wannabe,” “Ice Ice Baby,” “Lady Marmalade,” “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” “Motownphilly,” “Waterfalls,” and more.
