Hamas military wing spokesman Abu Obeida addressed the IDF’s expansion of operations into Gaza City, threatening that it would increase the chances of capturing soldiers. According to him, Hamas militants are on high alert and will teach the IDF a “harsh lesson.” He claimed that “the responsibility for the fate of the hostages lies with the IDF and Netanyahu’s government. The hostages will be kept as safe as possible alongside Hamas.”
