Former Cork centre-back Ronan Curran, Terence McCarthy, and William Biggane are expected to be part of new manager Ben O’Connor’s sideline ticket for the Cork hurlers.

Two-time All-Ireland winner Curran, McCarthy, and Biggane were all part of O’Connor’s backroom team when Cork landed the All-Ireland U20 title in 2023, and the trio look set to rejoin forces with O’Connor at senior level.

Biggane is a Newtownshandrum clubmate of O’Connor and served as the goalkeeping coach in his Cork U20 set-up, while McCarthy was Midleton selector when the new Cork manager coached the Magpies to county honours in 2021.

There is speculation that Niall O’Halloran of Ballinhassig could also be part of the management make-up in a coaching capacity. O’Halloran has won county championships at various grades with Bandon, Éire Óg, and Fr O’Neill’s, and also served as Cork minor coach under John Considine towards the end of the last decade.
