Tipperary hurler Michael Breen and his girlfriend, Olympian sprinter Sharlene Mawdsley, shared a sweet moment on the pitch at Croke Park after the Premier County’s All-Ireland hurling final win over Cork. 

The couple posed proudly with the Liam MacCarthy Cup following Sunday’s 3-27 to 1-18 victory, with the Ballina man playing a key role in helping Tipp secure their first senior hurling title since 2019.

In one photo, Sharlene is pictured planting a kiss on Michael’s cheek while they both hold the iconic trophy.

Another shows the pair gazing at each other with smiles as they cradle the cup between them.

The Newport native, who has represented Ireland at European and World level, has been a vocal supporter of Michael, cheering him on from the stands during the semi-final and sharing behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram.

Sunday’s final marked the first-ever All-Ireland decider between Tipperary and Cork, and it was a tale of two halves.

The Rebels had led by six points at half-time, but a devastating second-half display saw Tipperary blow them away with a flood of scores.

John McGrath netted twice while young star Darragh McCarthy produced a sensational performance, finishing with 1-13, including a penalty after Cork were reduced to 14-men.

Tipperary outscored Cork by 3-14 to 0-2 in the second half, sealing their 29th All-Ireland title and leaving Croke Park awash with blue and gold celebration.
