A woman was hospitalised following an incident in Galway City yesterday evening.
The EYE Cinema in Galway City suffered structural damage to their building in Wellpark Retail Park , following a Status Yellow rain warning in the area.
Gardaà and the Galway Fire and Rescue Services attended the scene, and evacuated the area as a safety cordon was put in place.
Footage from the area shows part of the outside structure of the building collapsed, while part of the building was flooded inside. Furthermore, the ceiling collapsed in one of the movie theatres.
The EYE Cinema have confirmed on social media that the premises will be closed until further notice, and ticket holders will receive further information on their bookings.
A woman was brought to University Hospital Galway as a precaution following the incident.
