We have charged an 18-year-old man in relation to a stabbing incident involving three victims that occurred at the Calgary Stampede last month.
At approximately 11:05 p.m., on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, police responded to reports of a stabbing near the Euroslide on the Calgary Stampede Midway. Upon arrival, officers located a man in medical distress. He was transported to hospital in life-threatening but stable condition.
Shortly after, officers responded to two additional incidents involving individuals in medical distress: a youth near 17th Avenue S.E. and Macleod Trail S.E., and a man near Erlton Street S.W. and 27th Avenue S.W. Investigators confirmed all three individuals were victims of the same stabbing incident near the Euroslide. The two additional victims were taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.
Following an extensive investigation by our District 1 General Investigations Unit, which included witness interviews and a review of CCTV footage, police identified a suspect. On Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, police executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Calgary, which led to the seizure of a folding knife and clothing which were consistent with what the suspect was wearing and using at the time of the incident.
As a result, Irfan MOHAMMADI, 18, has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault.
MOHAMMADI will next appear in court on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025. Â
