A family member confirmed to KARE 11 that Josh Wines died of his injuries sustained during an event at the Isanti County Fair.

CAMBRIDGE, Minn. — The family of the driver injured during the Isanti County Fair on Thursday has confirmed that he has died.

According to his father-in-law, Josh Wines died as a result of his injuries sustained during a collision during Thursday night’s “Night of Destruction” grandstand event.

Wines’s family told KARE 11 that he was an organ donor.

An update posted to a GoFundMe said, “Josh fought courageously in the hospital after being airlifted from the scene, but his injuries were ultimately too severe. In his final act of generosity, Josh is donating his organs to help save and improve the lives of others.”

According to the fundraiser, Wines was newly married and about to leave on a week-long honeymoon for the crash happened. Money raised from the GoFundMe will assist with medical and funeral costs and to help support his wife.

The Isanti County Fair canceled the “Night of Chaos” event scheduled for Saturday. A prayer vigil was held instead on Saturday night.
