A motorcyclist aged in his 40s has died following a collision that occurred on Friday.

The collision took place at John Street, Drogheda, County Louth on Friday morning, shortly before 7:10am.

After suffering serious injuries in the collision, the motorcyclist passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda today.

Gardaí have appealled for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
