Hamilton police say two people are dead and two others were injured in a crash at an intersection in the city’s
southeast.
Police say first responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the crash early Friday evening at the intersection of Highgate Drive and Upper Centennial Parkway — on the Mountain.
They say one of the two vehicles involved was fully engulfed in flames.
Police say first responders located two people from one vehicle who were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two occupants of the second vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Upper Centennial Parkway was closed for hours in both directions on Friday as police’s forensic unit processed evidence.Â
The collision reconstruction unit has taken over the investigation, which continues.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
