A young Letterkenny woman has been chosen to compete for the €50,000 on offer as she stars in RTÉ’s The Traitors Ireland.
Filmed in Slane Castle, the show is one of the most anticipated on Irish television screens.
Donegal television viewers were delighted to see one of their own compete for the prizemoney when business graduate Kelley Higgins appeared on the show.
Kelley is one of 24 players from across the country to compete in the show.
Three ‘traitors’ were chosen by host Siobhán McSweeney during tonight’s show.
Kelley, the daughter of well-known local couple Brian and Denise Higgins, was not chosen as a traitor but is one of the’faithful.’
The secret Traitors, are chosen to deceive, manipulate and eliminate their rivals in the battle for up to €50,000.
The rest, the Faithful, must work together to expose the saboteurs before it is too late.
McSweeney, best known for Derry Girls, presides over the action as suspicion, paranoia and dramatic twists take hold.
Speaking to RTÉ McSweeney said: “It’s really nerve-racking. And Slane Castle lends the game a sense of history and drama that raises the stakes in every moment.”
The series will air across three nights each week, Sunday to Tuesday, and is followed by companion show The Traitors Ireland: Uncloaked, hosted by Kevin McGahern, with behind-the-scenes insight and exclusive clips.
