Chase ramps Abbott to the boundary
West Indies 1-103 after 10 overs
After some more orthodox shots, Chase now brings out the ramp shot to find the boundary off Abbott. Then he draws away from the stumps to cuff a pair of boundaries through short third.
Chase ends the over with a ramp shot for another boundary! Abbott taken to the cleaners there as Chase manipulated field and bowler with some real panache. This appears a little more enjoyable than captaining the West Indian Test side.

Chase drivess Zampa for six
West Indies 1-87
That’s pretty imperious from Chase, who drives Zampa down the ground with one of those statuesque poses beloved by cricket photographers.
Chase then hustles for two, beating Glenn Maxwell’s return throw. A West Indies tally in the 200 range is now possible as Zampa concedes 12 from his second over.

Hope and Chase attack Connolly
West Indies 1-75
Hope clouts Connolly through cover and an Ellis misfield concedes the boundary.
Chase then hammers a boundary through midwicket and follows with a muscular swat over long off for six. Connolly dropped too short there.

Marsh tries Zampa
West Indies 1-60
Clever wrist spinner Adam Zampa starts with a rusty full toss but soon zones in on the stumps and keeps Chase quiet, conceding just four singles from the over.
10.25am
Ellis enters the fray
West Indies 1-56
Nathan Ellis is perhaps Australia’s best white ball pace bowler in this game, but Roston Chase lines him up with a fine straight drive for four.
Chase and Hope have a mix-up after Ellis can’t field a ball hit back to him, but there’s no run out.
Hope drives sweetly through cover to end the sixth over. Fifty-six is a more than respectable Powerplay from the West Indies.

Abbott bowls a tight over
West Indies 1-46
Abbott straightens his line after swapping ends, and gets out of the fifth over of the innings without conceding a boundary.
Hope tries to muscle a short ball down the ground and it lands just out of the reach of Marsh running back from mid off.
10.15am
Connolly strikes for Australia!
Wicket! West Indies 1-41
Marsh brings on Cooper Connolly’s left-arm spin and second ball he gets enough purchase to beat King and give Josh Inglis a stumping.
That’s a win for Marsh and also for Connolly, who has been working assiduously on his slow bowling after looking somewhat short of Test class in Sri Lanka earlier in the year.
Shai Hope has a bit of a look at Connolly but then launches into a short ball and powers it over cover for six. A misfield then gives Hope a single.
10.11am
King and Hope finding the boundary
West Indies 0-32
Dwarshuis bowls a wide, but then he beats Hope outside off stump with a delivery angled across the West Indies captain.
Hope finds his range to the fifth ball, clumping a boundary down the ground, and repeats the dose with another from the last. In contrast to the pink ball Test, this looks a very good night for batting.
10.06am
Sean Abbott at the other end
West Indies 0-21
Abbott won’t bowl as full as Dwarshuis, but his second ball is too wide and King slaps it through cover with authority.
Abbott groans in disgust as he bowls virtually the same ball to end the over and King plays the same shot for the same result.
9.59am
Dwarshuis has the new ball
West Indies 0-10
Here we go. No Cummins, Starc or Hazlewood means Australia’s second string pacemen get a chance to make an impact.
Brandon King smacks Dwarshuis’ second ball down the ground for four and the third is carved over cover. Not much swing there.
Oooh, the fourth ball does swing back and there’s a big lbw shout. No review though.
