A teenage woman was stabbed in the head with a spear on Sunday.
The 18-year-old victim was found conscious when police and local clinic staff attended the scene at Angurugu, a community in on Groote Eylandt, about 12.05pm.
The spear was still embedded in the teen’s head when she was discovered, Northern Territory Police said.

The victim was airlifted by CareFlight to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The alleged offender is a man known to the young woman, and the alleged attack is being treated as domestic violence.
He remains on the run, and investigations are ongoing.
