Speaking to us at Hotspur Way on Monday, Randal said: “I’m really happy, really satisfied. I’m very proud. I can’t wait to meet my teammates and all the fans and to start to play. I can’t wait to get out on the pitch and show what I can do.
“I’m a player who fights hard for the badge. I fight for the fans, for the club, for the badge. I like to make runs in behind to help my teammates score, to score goals myself and to work hard for the team.”
Asked what qualities he will bring to the squad, he said: “My combativity, and lots of goals too, whether through assists or scoring myself. I hope to bring lots of goals and points for my new club.”
An imposing and pacey attacker, Randal has lifted two Ligue 1 titles with PSG, and broadened his experience of Europe’s top leagues further last season when he joined Juventus, bagging eight goals in 16 appearances in Serie A. He’s earned 31 caps for France along the way, scoring nine goals, including the semi-final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he also featured in the final as Les Bleus finished runners-up to Cuti Romero’s Argentina in a thriller in Qatar.
Now for a new challenge. “It’s a first time for me, a new league and I’m really happy to be playing here,” he added. “I just can’t wait to get going, I’ve watched a lot of these kinds of leagues on the TV. Now I’m here and I can’t wait to get out on the pitch, to start playing and show what I’ve got for my new club.”
