Celtic’s summer transfer window ended meekly with transfer deadline day passing by with a whimper.

Brendan Rodgers saw targets like Kasper Dolberg reject Celtic for Ajax as it looked like he was on his way to Parkhead from Anderlecht.

Sebastian Tounetki joined Celtic on deadline day after the club were forced to double their original offer to over £5m.

With just one player added so far, Chris Sutton has delivered his thoughts on the summer transfer window and Celtic fans will agree with him 100%.

Chris Sutton slams Celtic’s ‘remarkable’ summer transfer window

Sutton is not one to mince his words whenever it comes to criticising Celtic when it’s required and the Hoops hero didn’t hold back this morning.

Sutton said on X, “The most remarkable window of all time. Celtic have come out of it weaker.

“At least Celtic are doing everything they can for there to be a title race this season.

“Going into a season with great expectation and excitement after a few weeks the feeling now is utter deflation.”

With just one solitary player added on deadline day, Celtic fans have two weeks to stew over this as the international break kicks in now.

What happened to Celtic’s pursuit of Kelechi Iheanacho?

As it stands right now, Celtic’s pursuit of Kelechi Iheanacho started in February this year as he plied his trade with Sevilla in La Liga.

Rodgers wanted to take Iheanacho on loan to Celtic in the winter window but that deal fell through for whatever reason.

Now that his contract has been terminated by Sevilla, Celtic’s interest in the 28-year-old Nigerian forward resumes.
