Crackdown on learner drivers to put brakes on multiple permit ‘rollovers’

Legislation will be introduced to crack down on drivers who apply for multiple learner permits but never pass the driving test.

Under the crackdown, drivers will be limited to four successive learner permits – and, if a driver requires a fifth learner permit, they must start the entire process again, including a theory test and 12 compulsory lessons.
