AMBER Alert Issued for Child in Capital District

7/20; 7:30 p.m.– According to New York State Police, Melina Frattolin’s father, 45-year-old Luciano Frattolin of Canada, called 911 just before 10 p.m. Saturday to report his daughter was possibly abducted in the area of exit 22 on I-87 near Lake George. Investigators say there were inconsistencies in the father’s account of what happened. The 9-year-old’s body was found in Ticonderoga, almost an hour north of where she was last seen. More information is expected to be released on Monday.

7/20; 3:20 p.m.— According to law enforcement officials in Warren County, 9-year-old Melina Frattolin was found dead.

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. — A New York State AMBER Alert has been issued for a child that was allegedly abducted in the Adirondacks.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said 9-year-old Melina Frattolin was last seen around 9:40 p.m. Saturday, traveling southbound on Interstate 87 in Lake George in a white van. 

Frattolin is an Indian female, five feet tall, weighing 100 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing shorts, a blue and white striped shirt and white Adidas sneakers.

The child was taken under circumstances that lead police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious bodily harm or death.
