RIP: 'Numb with shock'- Tributes pour in for young boy who died suddenly

Countless messages have poured in following the sudden death of a young teenager who has been remembered as a beautiful young boy with a bubbly personality.

Cian Neville, from Dublin, died suddenly, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday 23rd August 2025.

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Orla & Ian, adored sisters & brother Coady & Ava & Joe & Joe girlfriend Kelsey, grandparent Debbie & Ged, Brian & Zane, aunts & uncles, extended family & very wide large circle of friends & amazing neighbours.

Funeral took place on Saturday, 30th of August, at 10am in Saint Patrick’s Church, Ringsend followed to Glasnevin for burial, where Cian’s mam Orla wished that everyone would wear pink as it was Cian’s favourite colour.

Cian featured on RTE’s Raised by the Village where a light was shone on his kind and caring personality and he took the hearts of the nation.

His passing has shocked and devastated many people including his family, friends, close community and those who admired him on the show.

Heartfelt messages have poured in on RIP.ie, with one mourner writing,

“I’m only seeing the heartbreaking news of Cian’s passing. He was a beautiful lad on raised by the village. My sincere condolences to his mammy and daddy and all his family. Cian may your beautiful soul rest in peace.”

Another message said, “I watched Cian on the RTE programme Raised by a village. He was such a lovable child, he had a really adorable personality and I remembered his face as soon as I saw it. I’m so sorry to all his family for your incredible loss. RIP Cian”.

“Just can’t believe I am writing this. Cian was such a fantastic boy he had big heart…when ever I would meet him I would get a big hug. Look after you mam and brother and sisters help them to get through this very sad time RIP Cian I will miss you,” another person said.

Cian’s former school wrote, “We are all numb with shock and grief at Cian’s untimely passing. Cian was a past pupil in our school and is remembered with great fondness by us all. We send his family our deepest sympathies and wish them strength in this awful time. May Cian RIP”.
