Jamie Colbourne from Lisreagh collapsed suddenly while out jogging in Perth last Wednesday.Â
The family of the 26-year-old say they are “beyond heartbroken” by this tragedy. His family went on to describe Jamie as an “extraordinary young man” who was “ambitious, passionate, funny, weird, tremendous, wonderful, beautiful, hilarious, amazing, fun, and bold.”
A statement posted online by his mother, local jewellery designer Elena Brennan said: “Our beautiful son Jamie, just turned 26 on 16th August, passed from earth in Perth Australia on the 27th August 2025. It was sudden and quick, no crime or accident involved, he just collapsed while out jogging.
“We are all beyond heartbroken. He was loved to bits by everyone that had the pleasure of crossing his path – here in Ireland, over in Western Australia and in New Zealand. He was ambitious, passionate, funny, weird, tremendous, wonderful, beautiful, hilarious, amazing, fun, and bold.
“He was an extraordinary young man. We are flying to Australia in a few days to bring him home.”
While his family embark on making the journey to Australia to bring his body back home, tributes have been paid online by those who knew Jamie describing him as a “lovely person” and “a beautiful young man.”
Another tribute posted online stated:Â “A beautiful, gentle, and kind young man who had so much to give this world. The memories you have left behind are full of fun, love and adventure.”
