A man is under police guard in hospital after a terrifying blaze in Sydney’s west.
The house on Wangara St in Doonside was well-alight when police arrived at the home and found one man was allegedly detaining another inside.
Police barged into the home and split the two men up, pulling them both from the blaze about 4.30am on Thursday.
A 35-year-old man was taken to Blacktown Hospital with face injuries.
A 46-year-old man was arrested and taken to Westmead Hospital where he is being treated for burns on his back, under police guard.
Police were also checked over by paramedics outside the Doonside house, as firefighters extinguished the fire, and detectives set up an investigation into the alleged domestic violence incident.
