LANSING, MI — The Powerball jackpot is now the third largest in the game’s history as there was no winner of the $1.44 billion jackpot for the drawing held on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

That means the grand prize for the drawing on Saturday, Sept. 6 will be worth $1.7 billion. That jackpot is also the third largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.

The winning numbers are: 3-16-29-61-69

Powerball winners for Sept. 1:

While there was no grand-prize winner, 15 tickets sold won at least $1 million. Those tickets were sold in California (2), Colorado, Florida, Georgia (2), Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wyoming. The players in Michigan, Oregon, Texas, and Wyoming also played the Power Play option, which increased their winnings to $2 million.In Michigan, the $1 million winner was sold at the Sunkiss Market, 13535 Puritan St, Detroit.There were 6,328,933 tickets sold in the drawing that won at least $4. In Michigan, 210,778 tickets sold won at least $4.

Powerball is offered in 45 States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Players select five white numbers from (1 to 69) and one red ball (1 to 26). Tickets cost $2 each.

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Breakfast Club lottery club which claimed a $842 million jackpot in June 2024. The members plan to use the money to buy a home in Florida and travel.

And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a Powerball winner worth $250,000 sold in Bloomfield Hills in 2024 went unclaimed. That money went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
