The former Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, has varied her hair length before, but she’s been consistently known for her brunette locks.
So, when the princess stepped out with her husband, Prince William, sporting a dramatically lighter hue in photos, people took notice. People labeled the change “shocking,” revealing that Kate unveiled the new look after returning to royal duty.
She visited the Natural History Museum’s “newly transformed gardens” with her husband, where she was photographed with blonde hair, according to People.
The British princess has been dealing with the aftermath of a cancer diagnosis, with her return to royal duties intermittent.
In July, she opened up to patients at a hospital about her cancer journey, according to ABC News.
“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism, through treatment. Treatment’s done, and it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal again,’ but actually that phase afterwards is a really difficult time,” Kate said at the Colchester Hospital in Colchester, England.
“You’re not able to function normally at home as you were perhaps once used to,” she added.
She first revealed the cancer battle in a video in March of 2024.
“It’s a roller coaster. It’s not one smooth plain, which you expect it to be, but the reality is it’s not. You go through hard times, and to have a place like this, to have the support network, whether it’s through creativity and singing or gardening, whatever it might be, is so valuable, and it’s great that this community has it,” she said, according to ABC News. “It would be great if lots of communities had this kind of support.”
In June, Kate was expected to attend Royal Ascot, but, according to People, she backed out of the event at the last minute.
