Israeli forces fatally shot a Palestinian citizen, on Friday, after stopping his vehicle at the Al-Murabba’a military roadblock, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

The General Authority of Civil Affairs informed the Palestinian Health Ministry who announced the death of the citizen, Ahmed Abdel Fattah Shahada, 58, a citizen of Urif town, after being shot by occupation forces at the Al-Murabba’a military roadblock.

Amid Ahmed, the director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) emergency and ambulance center in Nablus, reported that its ambulance crews responded to the scene, while Israeli soldiers prevented them from reaching the injured man.

Quds Press reported that Israeli soldiers shot Shahada with live ammunition and proceeded to confiscate his body, denying him medical treatment.

In a statement, the occupation army claimed that Shahada hurled a “suspicious object” at its soldiers, prompting them to heavily open fire at him, killing him.

The statement added that Shahada “did not comply with the orders of the forces, who began implementing procedures to arrest a suspect, which included opening fire to remove the threat, resulting in his death.”
Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 199 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 37 children and 6 women.
