The 35-year-old woman, who cannot currently be named due to the nature of the offences, was also allegedly attacked on High Road. The incident was reported on January 25.
Wearing a prison issue grey tracksuit, Levy appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court speaking only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
He was seen in the dock wearing dark black glasses and his lawyer Jason Lartey told the court that he was ‘blind in one eye’ and ‘can’t see without his prescription glasses’.
District Judge Elizabeth Baker remanded Levy in custody until Wednesday and said: ‘Your hearing at the crown court will be at the Old Bailey on the 10 September when, if you wish, you may make a bail application.’
Both victims’ families are receiving support from specially trained officers.Â
The force said its investigation was continuing and asked anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting 1721/24AUG, or anonymously at Crimestoppers on 0800 111 555.Â
