A Toronto man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman in the city’s High Park area late last week.

On Sept. 5, just before 6 p.m., police said they were called to the area of Glenlake and High Park avenues, north of Bloor Street West, for a medical call.

There, officers found a woman with critical injuries inside a vehicle.

The victim, identified by police as 21-year-old Serenity Brown, of Toronto, was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased. She is the city’s 30th murder victim of the year.

On Monday, Trinel Thornhill, 48, also of Toronto, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in bail court on Tuesday morning.
