Investigations are underway following the discovery of the body of a man in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary.
At approximately 02.30am this morning, Gardaí and emergency services responded to a call-out on Main Street.
A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was conveyed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford by the National Ambulance Service.
Main Street and the region around West Gate are closed, with local diversions in place, as of this morning (Tuesday, September 9th).
The scene remains preserved for technical examination.
Investigations are ongoing, and those who may have relevant information are asked to contact their local Garda station.
