During the NRL’s announcement, V’landys gave the AFL a cheeky jab after they opted for a controversial grand final entertainment choice in rapper Snoop Dogg.

AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon was forced to defends the call to engage Snoop Dogg for a performance after widespread criticism of the decision.

“We saw what the FLA got – what’s he called, Labrador or Poodle,” V’landys said on The Today Show.

“I’m not sure – all I know is that it is a dog act. So we had to get better than that. We actually got a vocalist.

“None of this doof, doof stuff. This bloke can actually sing.”
