Hamilton Police have made a third arrest in connection to the shooting death of Harsimrat Randhawa.

On April 17, 2025 Harsimrat Randhawa, a Mohawk College Student, was tragically shot and killed while she stood near a bus stop at the intersection of Upper James Street and South Bend Road in the City of Hamilton.

After several weeks of investigation, the Hamilton Police Service Homicide Unit announced that 32-year-old Jerdaine Foster had been arrested on August 5th and charged with First Degree Murder and Attempted Murder (3 Counts).

On August 7, 2025, members of the Hamilton Police Service located and arrested 26-year-old Obiesea Okafor in North York. He has been charged with Attempted Murder (3 counts).

The Hamilton Police Service Homicide Unit has now arrested a third person in the murder of Harsimrat. On September 8th, with the assistance of the Toronto Police Service, 29-year-old Jaiyden Jones of no fixed address was arrested without incident in Toronto. He appeared in court later that day and has been charged with:

First Degree Murder of Harsimrat RandhawaAttempted Murder (3 counts)

This investigation is ongoing, and detectives continue to relentlessly pursue all leads to identify and arrest those involved in this murder.
